Chinese New Year!
Our first-ever Chinese New Year celebration on February 7 was great. Dr. Lorenzo Phan, Acupuncture Physician and Herbalist, presented an informative seminar on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. He demonstrated on volunteers how effective acupuncture pain management techniques can be. Everyone ate a delicious Chinese lunch, thanks to Retha and our food services staff. We all learned our Chinese zodiac signs and enjoyed the fun party!
Dance into Spring!
We'll kick off the month of March with the Crane Lake Dancers on Monday, March 3 at 10 am.
Creative? Artistic? Crafty?
Come to our weekly card-making class with Bessie Ney, Ethel King and Lisa Stein. These three ladies are our resident experts on making beautiful cards. They have every do-dad, frill and phrase (embellishments and sentiments in card-making lingo) along with tools you need to create unique cards. If you're crafty — and even if you aren't — check it out. If you're only interested in the final product, you can purchase these special cards in our Country Store.
Painting Class
Jessie French will teach a monthly painting class. She teaches the one stroke technique. If you're interested in learning to paint, join us on Tuesday, March 25 in the Activity Room.

Military Care Packages Report
After sending holiday goodies to our troops, we received some thoughtful thanks. Below are a few quotes from the thank you letters.
"Your kindness and caring support has really made the holidays happier." - Col. Jeff Jerome
"Grand Villa ALF — Thanks very much for all the goodies you sent. They are much appreciated. Thanks for your support." - Major Hendrickson
"We were touched by your thoughtfulness & kindness."
"Thanks you so much for bringing us a little bit of home."
"It's nice to know there are prople like you in this world."
We are definitely making a difference to our brave men and women overseas. Special thanks to Daytona Beach's Jackpot Bingo, and Bonnie Grider in our Resident Care department. Bonnie coordinated the gift from the Jackpot Bingo. We could'nt have done it without you.
